Having come across our details via Pinterest, we were invited to meet with a client in Barnet, North London, who were in the process of committing to a well-known garden room supplier.

This garden room was going to be used as garden gym and yoga studio. However, due to restrictions on the design and overall finish of the building, this client reached out to us for advice.

The biggest challenge was the levels of the garden and restricted access.

After meeting on site, we learned that they were undertaking a project that included:

• Levelling of a very steep garden
• Extensive grounds works
• New planting and turfing
• Decking

As it happened, the decking was being sourced from Millboard, who we also partner with for both decking and cladding. To keep a consistent colour and flow to the overall project, we suggested using the same colour cladding as they were using for the decking. In addition, we came up with some ideas for the gym that enhance the space rather than restrict their requirements – this included excavating the ground to the left boundary. By doing this, we were able to increase the height of the garden room (all under permitted development) to allow for a steep incline on their running machine.

As with all of our buildings we included a powder-coated (wrap-around) aluminium fascia, along with aluminium bi-folding indoors, a floor to ceiling aluminium window & smaller opening window the back (all Origin Global). All of the aluminium was powder-coated in the same matching RAL colour.

Electrics and data were again installed by the team, along with an air-conditioning unit, plastered, painted and floor installed. Also, to the front of the building, we installed a decked area, with up lights recessed into the decking.
